The Physics Education Study Program is part of the Physics Department which began in 1957 under the name B-I of the Aircraft Science Department. In 1962, the B-I program was integrated into the Teaching and Education Faculty of Airlangga University which was changed to the Physics Education Department at the Teaching and Education Faculty of Airlangga University. The Physics Education Department was separated from Airlangga University when the establishment IKIP Negeri Surabaya (Surabaya State Teacher Training College) in 1964. In 1998, IKIP Negeri Surabaya was renamed Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Berofe the endorsement of Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), the Physics Education Department change its name to the Physics Department which has 2 (two) study programs, namely the Physics Education Undergraduate Study Program and the Physics Undergraduate Study Program. The Physics Education Undergraduate Study Program was recorded on July 7, 1996 (based on the Decree Number of Establishment 247/DIKTI/KEP/1996 dated July 7, 1996). The Physics Education Study Program is in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, located on the Unesa Ketintang campus.
